Every muscle aches

So I've continued to work out...I just haven't been doing p90x. So why is it that after one lousy p90x workout and a long bike ride, every muscle in my body aches. Including my abs. Does this mean I just have to continue to cycle through p90x for the rest of my life to stay in shape? Because obviously doing my walking and biking and pushups did not keep me in shape in between rounds of p90x. How depressing. I like variety in workouts and to think that ten years from now the only way I'll be in shape is to be on round 31 of p90x makes me want to cry.

  1. I know what you're talking about -- I did Chest & Back a week ago and wanted to cry the next day. I took 11 days off from running and then went out yesterday and my legs felt so heavy...I've had about 3-4 weeks off from P90X, and it doesn't seem like that much! But I'm starting up again for real today, and keeping the running in the mix....hard to believe I'll still be doing this when I'm 70....

  2. Please tell me you're in as much pain as I am after plyometrics....

  3. We actually aren't doing plyo this time around. It kills my knees and my husbands plantar fascitis acts up. On plyo nights we are taking a killer bike ride with lots of hills. I love the results of plyo but by then end of our last round of p90x we could barely walk because of it. That's why we won't do insanity or the new p90x2. Too much jumping for us old folks.

  4. Plyo is tough on my plantar fasciitis -- I could only do one round of the one-foot hops last night and had to jump rope the second round. Its tough, but its great for conditioning my legs for running, but I totally get why you're not doing it.
