is now known as Aurora. She was born on 12/2/10 weighing 7lb11oz. I will do a birth story later but for now I will say that after 10 hours of hard labor, contractions 3 minutes apart, back labor, and a hell of alot of pain, I was still dilated to a, wait for it, 0. Yikes. Those last few hours of labor were unbearable. My longest labor before this one had been 5 hours or so, so I was completely unprepared to labor so hard and so long and to make no progress. I am proud that I survived all of those hours without any pain meds. The end result was a c-section due to failure to dilate. Baby is healthy and so am I. I just got up and walked a bit and I am 11 hours post surgery. Will probably go home tomorrow and back to work on Monday if I feel well.

  1. You may think you feel okay, but trust me, your body will get its revenge later if you push it too hard now. My third c-section recovery was my hardest, and I know its because I was doing too much (I'm not good at just sitting around). Give your body a break for once!!

  2. Congratulations! Did the IF make it in time? How are things going with them? I would love to hear all the gory details when you have time to post it. Good for you for your excellent effort and all the long hours of labor! You did a fabulous job and deserve a medal!! I love the name Aurora. Beautiful.
Take your time and be gentle with yourself.

  3. Awesome!! I am so happy that she finally came out. Sorry about the section, but I guess it all worked out.

You sound like me after a csection! I recovered best when I got back to life!!
